On November 1st 2018 our lives were changed and our second baby girl was born. I want to do her birth story in a separate post and share some photos that weren't posted on my instagram for you all to see. In a nutshell she was born on a Thursday morning around 8:00 am and weighed 6lbs 5 oz and was 20 inches tall. She is doing awesome and I can't wait to share all the updates with you.

Design Your Life Part 1: Why Design
Why are we going to be designing our life. Why is this important for 2018?
Let's start with what we know. We all know that we have 365 days (now 364 days). Those days are categorized into 12 months, and 52 weeks. All in all it's not very much time. We don't have a lot of time so it is so important we are purposeful and intentional with our time. Designing our life allows us to be able to fully embrace what we want. It allows us to accomplish everything on our bucket list. It allows us to reach our potential even when we don't see what that potential is quite yet.
Without a design, a place of reference, a plan, our life can slip away. This leaves us with regrets at the end of the year and we think I could have done so much better.
The holiday season will approach us and we will be left wondering what happened to the year. Take the time now to Design your year and your life so this doesn't happen to you.
God is a great example of this.
Elder Ronald A. Rasband recently discussed this idea (where my whole thought process came for this series) during October 2017 general conference.
"Our lives are like a chessboard, and the Lord moves us from one place to another—if we are responsive to spiritual promptings. Looking back, we can see His hand in our lives."
Yes! He also said this about coincidences that happen in our lives. "coincidence is not an appropriate word to describe the workings of an omniscient God. He does not do things by ‘coincidence’ but … by ‘divine design.'"
God designs our lives. So why don't we?
"Significant events unfold in the gospel and in the Church that further the kingdom of God on earth. They are not by accident but by God’s plan."
Our purpose and design for this life is clear to God and it is our job to start figuring that out as best we can. Let's start by understand what God wants for us out of this life and what we can accomplish.
"What should you be looking for in your own life? What are God’s miracles that remind you that He is close, saying, “I am right here”? Think of those times, some daily, when the Lord has acted in your life—and then acted again. Treasure them as moments the Lord has shown confidence in you and in your choices. But allow Him to make more of you than you can make of yourself on your own. Treasure His involvement. Sometimes we consider changes in our plans as missteps on our journey. Think of them more as first steps to being “on the Lord’s errand.”
I love this paragraph from this talk so much. Our first discussion topic is to think about these instances in your life when the Lord showed confidence in you and in your choices. I will share an experience tomorrow but it is so important to know and learn that the Lord has already been confident in what you are doing.
The second assignment is to read the talk from Elder Rasband (By Divine Design). I hope to hear some of your thoughts on the topic. I'll post mine on my facebook page!

Design Your Life: An approach to new years resolutions, goals, aspirations, habits, etc. focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ and your divine purpose as a daughter of God.
2018 is here! I am super excited about this new series I am doing this week here on my blog and Facebook page. If you don't follow me on my Facebook page click here, that is where I am hoping a lot of the discussion for this idea will be.
Design Your Life: An approach to new years resolutions, goals, aspirations, habits, etc focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ and your divine purpose as a daughter of God.
Today's post is an intro to what is going to be happening here on the blog. I don't know how long this is going to expand. I currently have a vision of it running for a week, but it may extend further depending on feedback.
The purpose of this series is to help those around me design a life they love and a life they want to live by giving you a different way to look at habits, goals, etc. I want you to enjoy each day, each month, and each year and feel like you are accomplishing great things. As a daughter of God I want each of us to reach our potential, to see in ourselves what God sees in us and to embrace ourselves as someone. We will be exploring general conference talks, patriarchal blessings, and scriptures to fully understand what our purpose is. We will also be talking about ways to plan out your year and months so you can reach all the goals you want to. We will be considering habits and how they affect our day to day. It will be a lot of fun and each day has simple small tasks to do that will help us design our lives!
Materials:
Your Patriarchal Blessing (if you aren't LDS and you don't know what this is you can read more about it here)
Paper/pen (I am using my bullet journal.. I'll talk more about this later, but any paper/ pen/ notebook works)
A Planner (I am using an Erin Condren Life Planner, you can use whatever planner works for you, even the dollar tree ones or your iphone calendar and notes section on your phone)
Access to LDS tools for general conference talks (or lds.org)
Scriptures
Highlighters
Sticky Notes
There is no assignment today but tomorrow we are getting right into everything so be ready! I hope you are all excited to design your life this coming month. 2018 here we come!
