6-9 Month Mommy Favorites

Claire is almost 10 months old (on Wednesday) and since she has changed so much I decided to post about our favorite items we used during the 6-9 month stage. Being a mom for the first time you figure out what works for you and your child and what doesn't. Every mom and baby is different but hopefully you'll find some new items on this list that you'll love.
1. This diaper bag from Little Unicorn.

I purchased this back in April and have used it every day since. It has been the best investment. The leather cleans up really well, and I love that it looks like a purse so I don't feel like I'm carrying a big diaper bag around all the time.
2. This Walker from Amazon.

Claire has really mastered walking this past month. She can't do it by herself yet but she enjoys walking along the furniture and using this walker in the house. Sometimes she hates it but once she figured out she can move in it she realized it wasn't so bad.

3. This high chair.

I have no idea where it's from but I've seen similar chairs at Walmart and Target. I love it. It's easily portable which makes camping trips great because I can take it with us and just strap it to a chair. It's easy to take to other people's houses as well like friends and family so she has a place to sit. She loves sitting in it so she can see what everyone is doing and eating her cheerios.

4. Sunscreen!
I use almost 100% aveeno baby products on Claire. She has really sensitive skin so aveeno is the brand that I have found works best for that. This sunscreen doesn't bug her and is so mild that her skin doesn't get irritated. We are outside a lot lately so sunscreen has become a must for her. We are taking her to Lagoon for the first time on Saturday which I am excited for and I know we will be using this as well as her baby hat to protect her from the sun.

5. Carter's brand onesies.
I love these onesies. They are perfect and right now a great length. She has been wearing the 9 month size ones since May and I don't think she'll be graduating to the 12 months one for a while. I already stocked up on Carter's 12 month onesies for her next size up though because we love them so much.

6. Swimsuits!
Swimsuit shopping has been so hard for us. At 7 months she was wearing a 12 month swimsuit. I read that this is pretty normal for babies though because they run small. Because of this I didn't want to buy expensive swimsuits so we purchased this one and all of her other ones from Walmart. They are about $7.00 and just perfect for the summer. Now she is in an 18 month swimsuit so I might have to purchase more in the next size up.

7. Books!
She has been into reading a lot lately. It's so cute. These touch and feel books I purchased from Amazon have been so fun. She actually feels the pages and says oh when she touches something soft. It's so cute.

So there are some of our mommy favorites. I am going to be doing a 10 month update post on her because she has reached so many new milestones this month. Saying new words, walking, recognizing things, etc. So stay tuned for that. Hope summer is going well!

Books I Read: May

If you are new to the blog, I set a new years resolution/personal goal for myself to read at least 3 books a month. So far I have read 3 books in January, 4 books in February, 2 books in March, and 4 books in April. I really only missed reading 3 in March which is great but then May hit and I only read one book last month. One! We did go on two vacations with family so our weekends were pretty busy. Claire has been growing and experiencing the world around her and I didn't want to miss a second of her figuring out the world. With that being said I only got to read one book but it was a good one!
The Crown by Kiera Cass:
In The Heir, a new era dawned in the world of The Selection. Twenty years have passed since America Singer and Prince Maxon fell in love, and their daughter is the first princess to hold a Selection of her own.
Eadlyn didn’t think she would find a real partner among the Selection’s thirty-five suitors, let alone true love. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and now Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more difficult—and more important—than she ever expected.

Good: I love this series. If you love the Bachelor/Bachelorette you'll like reading these books. They are a quick read. I can read them in a day if I am really focused on reading and don't have any distractions. If you need a good book for the pool this is the one for you, read the other 4 in the series first though. I love who she ended up picking, it was kind of predictable but easily overlooked. The writing in this series isn't bad for a young adult novel either. I have definitely read some young adult books that I couldn't get through because of the writing but this one is different.

Not so good: It really isn't a stand alone book. In fact the entire selection series you have to read from book 1 through the end. Sometimes I like that, sometimes I don't. In this case since I had read the previous books I was fine with it but if I hadn't I would have been so confused the entire time.

Books I plan to read in June:
I am so excited for Summer. It means more reading time with camping trips, vacations, and reading outside while Claire plays in her play pen.  I have been really into the poldark series on Amazon prime. I discovered that the series is based off of books so I am wanting to read at least the first one this month.
I also love regency era romance novels and the library has a few that I haven't read yet so I am hoping to get my hands on one and read that.
Why not me by Mindy Kaling. I want to read this one for Bon's book club this month because it just looks so good and fun and I love Mindy!
What books are on your summer reading list?
